Well, these music threads are much less depressing than the QPR ones at the moments so here is a link to an interesting article from the BBC site. A few surprises there but more importantly what is your best cover version.

For me it is Respect by Adeva

Has anyone posted this lovely old hymn yet?

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Obviously copy of the brilliant Donald Byrd but awesome version by Ralph Myerz below. Saw them live at Big Chill and Brighton Concorde (sure they had 3or4 drummers at Brighton) but very good live

Love a bit of Patti Smith and Nirvana, but hadn't heard this until yesterday. Had to find the live version to get the full Patti Smith experience

Something has gone wrong with the audio on that. Or is it just me?

The one above worked fine.

There's a bit of hiss in the background, but apart from that I could hear it OK.

No it was my headphones cheers.

I tried watching a bit of 'Bates motel' and had noise but no dialogue. I wiggled the phono plug and lo a veritable cacophony of noise.

Not going through 16 pages so this might have already been suggested but Sinead O'Connor's 'Nothing Compares to You' far superior to Prince's imo. I was more struck by the OP, some things don't change much over the years.

Just noticed my original link to Adeva was broken so that has now been remedied. Great track that.

Always on my mind Pet Shop Boys
Bowie's Man Who Sold the World by Nirvana

And for fun
Arctic Monkeys doing Girls Aloud's Love Machine on Radio 1 Live Lounge.
The lyrics are so inane, they have a fit of giggles halfway through

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime."
