The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP 07:01 - Apr 4 with 2356237 viewsLblock

Here I am starting this from my recovery bed and no clue how to link tunes on an iPhone!

Will stick on my offerings from a PC later unless the other knuckles thread is the preference to use?

House classics and dancey dazzlers only, no hijacking from suicide rock please!

In the beginning there was jack.......

Been meaning to update for years.
Can only be one.......

As ever - quality offerings

I'm going to reach right to the back of the stack and blow off the dust from a couple of classics if you'll allow. We've not gone way, way, way back for a good few pages and I'm feeling somewhat tender after an afternoon / evening on it yesterday

last one. nice 303 groove

The religion of the Olmec people significantly influenced the social development and mythological world view of Mesoamerica. Scholars have seen echoes of Olmec supernatural in the subsequent religions and mythologies of nearly all later pre-Columbian era Mesoamerican cultures.

The first Mesoamerican civilization, the Olmecs, developed on present-day Mexico southern Gulf Coast in the centuries before 1200 BCE. The culture lasted until roughly 400 BCE, at which time their center of La Venta lay abandoned. The Olmec culture is often considered a "mother culture" to later Mesoamerican cultures.

There is no surviving direct account of the Olmec's religious beliefs, unlike the Maya, with their Popol Vuh, or the Aztecs, with their many codices and conquistador accounts.

Archaeologists, therefore, have had to rely on other techniques to reconstruct Olmec beliefs, most prominently:[1]

Like it Disco me 'ol mucka

Did make me chuckle when I realised my Clueless or Stubborn post got 13 down arrows -- I never pay attention to such things until PunteR mentioned it on a response. I shall walk off into purgatory wailing the tears of a thousand widows whilst my concious claws at my heart.
Or maybe not. Maybe I'll just seek solitude in a funky bassline and a few bottles of Blue moon Lager with the obligatory slice of orange peel in the glass for added hipster effect.

(PS - He'll always be Benny to me now)
