The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP on 11:49 - Feb 7 by Lblock
Think we may have had this short film up before? Thinking possibly PunteR put it up?
Nonetheless, just watched it again and loved it.
I remember going to Venus on a coach. Norman Jay and some of Ladbroke Groves finest. Great, great times
Yeh I put that up a while ago. Nice to re watch. I drove past the pub in Colnbrook where Full Circle was held a few days ago and its boarded up, completely run down and looking very sorry for its self. I never went but I've heard loads and I mean loads of wonderful stories about the place. I wish I experienced it. Sad to see it in that state, and the state of the club scene these days. I'm sure the yoof would beg to differ.

Colin Dale's Abstact Dance show is back. I've been checking this show out on Mixcloud recently but it's now going out on YouTube which means I can now share in here. :)

Well that takes me back to some late night accompaniment on KissFM
The two Colin's were a must listen to for me back then.... Dale'n Favor. Fantastic.
I remember I had one of the Abstract Dance shows on really late one night (a Tuesday maybe?) when I was doing some college work (cramming as usual). My old man knocked on the door and said "what are you doing?"... "College work" I responded....... he came back quick as a flash -- "sounds like you're communicating with aliens - turn that shit down we're trying to sleep!"
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I reckon aliens were tuning in as well... lol Techno music back then sounded so futuristic. Way beyond 2022. Both Colins were really influential to so many DJs and ravers. Yeh Tuesday nights was his show time I think. I used to stay up recording the tunes on my radio cassette. Big influence on me that's for sure.

I went there a couple of times, it was as mental as the stories suggest. One particular time was after one of the Primal Scream Brixton all-nighters, that finished at 6am and I think Full Circle ran from 2-6pm… so you can imagine that state we were in by the time we got there and had already been up for over 24 hours. Total carnage.
