Holy Christ alive!!! I just stumbled across this and it seems I've found footage of a do I was actually at back then... watching this proper wistfully. Amazingly..... (as my memory isn't to the standard of Paul Parker's)... I remember bits really vividly. This was one of my first big rave tent bashes and we headed over across the QE2 bridge not really knowing what to expect but had been told tales of the legendary Raindance Robot and the Acid God etc. We also knew it was connected to the ICF and they were running things. T'was a lovely summer evening and I just know I had on a pair of Nike Wimbledon, faded baggy Chipie jeans and a long sleeved white baggy sweatshirt with a play on the Express Dairy logo which said "Express Yourself" with a big blue E in the middle. What an excellent night it was - still remember the bass booming as I walked in and after an hour thinking I had a dud.... then WHOOSH! Can recall meeting a couple of girls we knew from Camden Palace and then it's all a bit hazy.... I remember "getting straight" about 4:30am and went and sat outside with my mate Miller for a while. Just couldn't wait to get back on it! We came back in to join the others and shortly after I think the music stopped.... lots of booing, whistling, cheering, shouting. Then they pulled back the canvasing of the marquee over to our right and the sun came bursting through and The Beloved Sun Rising crackled over the speakers... immense and, boom, another little rush on. We left there as one of the last lot to bus it back to the car park and after driving back to Ealing had a few reggae cigarettes in the local park and just talked rubbish as per.
Brilliant, brilliant and simple times. No mobile phone, no social media, you just had whatever money you had in your pocket and cracked on. Tragic todays genertions will never know that feeling but time moves on and I guess they enjoy themselves their own way.
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I’m on the record, and have bored everyone, how this was my opening track in a set I did one NYE at a rave on Kentish Town 1995/6 (I think!). Might’ve played a different mix, Work It Babe, but I was lucky enough to start at midnight and I still get goosebumps at the atmosphere that kicked in.
This video, you may have noticed I like what this Northern geezer does, sums it all up and captures it nicely
Love to have footage of that night but thankfully them was the days where we weren’t obsessed with taking videos and pictures of everything with our smart phones…. As they didn’t exist.
