The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP 07:01 - Apr 4 with 2319943 viewsLblock

Here I am starting this from my recovery bed and no clue how to link tunes on an iPhone!

Will stick on my offerings from a PC later unless the other knuckles thread is the preference to use?

House classics and dancey dazzlers only, no hijacking from suicide rock please!

In the beginning there was jack.......

Been meaning to update for years.
Can only be one.......

was at ascot racing yesterday and drinking in the pub next oor and it reminded me of a few gigs i've seen there, usually a few of the older boys.

here's a couple of them

shame i can't make the 35th annivesary gig tonight, nice view for the opening scene!

Mario Biondi was amazing the other night. He came on after Carleen Anderson (who I thought would be impossible to trump) and took it to another level.

Was stuck at a local music thing, gutted to miss that. My one was shit with a dodgy old Beatles snide band and some local bird who was meant to be good but had me heading to the beer tent after 5 minutes. Well at least your birthday celebrations starting well

Have you heard the Mario Biondi mash up of This is What You Are and the SOS Band's The Finest?

Pure heaven

The tempo on this version pitched a bit too high, I've heard it running a few BPM's slower than this and it's a blinder

I'm afraid it has been Parker my old son -- of that I'm cast iron sure or my serotonin deprived brain has packed up totally.

Just heard this one on Point Blank as I work into the small hours pricing a rather dapper refurbishment up.
What a corker - may have already been up when Nice N Ripe were being banged??

Top Banana! Love that track

Had a good few nights in Malibu's with some classic stories.
All the Midnight Cowboys never bothered me but a couple of my mates were, and still are, a tad on the homophobic front. One of them got accosted by a couple of the resident tranny's in there one night in the wee small hours and they chased him around the gaff with a blinged up granny's shopping trolly Benny Hill style.
But my favourite was one night in the queue. We got VIP'd via a DJ mate but of course it was so painfully trendy even VIP's had to queue to the left, ordinary Joe's to the right. So we got flipped from right to left. Along comes Ian Walker and his resident "Page Free Stunner" and walks up to fella with clipboard, I was next in so heard the lot.
"I'm on the list - Ian Walker plus one"
"Yes - got you here, join the queue" says raving homo on door duty.
"No mate - I'm on the guest list"
"Yes - I can see that, if you just join the queue to the left here.."
"Nah, I'm on the list mate - Ian Walker, Spurs goalkeeper - dont you know who I am?"
"I do know who you are - you're Ian Walker - you've just told me that twice now get in the queue, wait in line till you get to the door and then I'll tell you and your fag hag to fcuk right off!!"

Walker's face was a picture and to make it even worse as he flounced off he gave it "place is sh1t anyway"

Hated the door policy in a lot of the trendy places but that night it was a God send!!!

Proper, proper, proper cold chilling hunk of funk to mellow my way into Friday

Had a terrible week culminating with hearing I've been stitched up on a £500k job I priced this week -- no wonder there was a storm of biblical proportions keeping me up all night last night.

Had this on the phones as I treked across London on the ever pleasant Underground this morning.

I've been sitting back enjoying all the tunes put up this week, some great additions. Especially the Milky one that I've proper rinsed, in my internet excursions I noticed there was a Full Intention remix of that.

I didn't know that Michael Gray was one half of Full Intention, I really liked this tune of his from a few years back and even bought the CD single. There’s.…ahem… some good views of London in the video….....

Not too sure about this one but it’s my birthday this weekend so seems appropriate and actually sounds better than I remembered, maybe it’s something to do with the video ?

Will put some more underground stuff up tomorrow to redress the balance lol. By the way Lblock (soz Paul lol) I loved that SOS band Finest mix you put up — the SOS band were my favourite band of the mid eighties.

Gonna do a rewind on this as I think the long version houses it up a bit and does this tune the full justice……..
