All To Easy For Vale

Vale kept up their 100% record away from home with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Macclesfield. Two goals from Marc Richards and a Sean Rigg strike did the damage for Vale as they moved up to 2nd in the league -  level on points with Shrewsbury, with just 'goals scored' giving the Shrews top spot.

When was the last time we could get this excited about the start of the season? I remember us winning the first four league games of the 06/07 season - Leon Constantine, Akpo Sodje, Danny Whitaker, Danny Sonner, Jeff Smth, George Pilkington, Mark Goodlad, Jason Talbot ,et al - but it quickly disintergrated, this season we have far more belief, a team that wants to win, and isn't scared of facing anyone in this league. We are genuine promotion contenders. And after all the disappointment we've had to put up with over the past few seasons we deserve this.

The 2000+ travelling Fans were excellent again. We are far too big a Club to be playing the likes of Macclesfield. Next week we're at home to Accrington Stanley. We do not belong in this league!
