Southampton Linked With 25 Year Old Winger from Italy

With the deal on Ryan Fraser hitting rocky ground with Newcastle, it is not surprising that left wingers are being linked with the club all over the place and I don't mean Angela Rayner, here is an interesting rumour from Italy.

Latest Southampton news on footballinsider247.com is that Saints are interested in Sassuolo winger Armand Lauriente.

The 25 year old Frenchman joined the Italian club two years ago for around £10 million and at one point towards the tail end of 2022/23 season he was said to have almost doubled in value.

But last season was not a great one for Sassuolo and they were relegated from Serie A last season and now need to balance the books.

Saints are joined by Lazio and several Turkish clubs who are also said to be interested in the player.

He joined the Italian club from Le Orient in France, in 68 games in Ligue 1 he scored 10 goals and 8 assists and in his two seasons at Sassuolo in 65 games he hit 12 goals and 12 assists.

Primarily a left winger, he can also switch sides to the right.
