West Ham Agree Deal For Right Back Is This Good News For Southampton

According to media sources West Ham United have agreed a transfer fee for a right back, but it is not Kyle Walker Peters, if this deal is completed then could this be good news for Saints.

BBC Sport are reporting that West Ham United have agreed an initial €16m (£13.47m) for 26-year-old right back Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich, with a potential further €3.5m (£2.95m) in add-ons.

The Morroccan is now in talks over personal terms and the Hammers hope to secure the player who has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, including Manchester United.

If they sign Mazraoui then this could be good news for Saints fans, as it will probably mean that the Hammers end their interest in signing Kyle Walker Peters, so it is a step in the right direction in the player remianing at St Mary's next season.

West Ham are also said to be in talks with Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran who was signed from Chicago Fire in January 2023 and has not really threatened a regular place in the starting line up for Villa.

However a closer look at his stats paint a more favourable picture, 5 goals in 35 Premier League appearances for Villa does not look a good record, but when you consider that most of them have been off the bench, then 5 goals in 556 minutes on the pitch, is a good stat.

I am surprised that he has not been linked with Saints, around £18 million, around the price Villa paid, would secure his services.
