West Ham Said To Be Willing To Let Flynn Downes Leave

It is no secret that Russell Martin is keen to add Flynn Downes to his squad for the return to the Premier League, according to reports coming from East London, new manager Julen Lopetegui has confirmed that the player is not part of his plans.

That is according to West Ham news website claretandhugh.

They say that West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui has told Downes that he is not part of his plans and that he is free to discuss a move to Southampton, they also claim that the Hammers are happy to let him go for £12 million, the price they paid when they signed him from Swansea City two years ago.

This is good news, there are few Saints supporters who don't consider that Downes was an important part of the team last season, the more the season went on the better he got and when he was unable to play, it showed in the team's performance.

With the magical date of July 1st now only a week or so away, hopefully this is a deal that will get done early.
