After a few weeks of nothingness at Dale, we've made our first summer signing in the former of a winger.
Dale have moved quickly to sign former Gateshead winger Connor McBride. The 23-year-old was on Gateshead's released list announced yesterday but has been quickly snapped up by Jim McNulty.
McBride made 30 appearances for the FA Trophy winners last season, scoring 3 goals and claiming 3 assists in all competitions but did only manage to start 18 of these games, including against Dale in a 2-2 draw at Spotland back in October. He was an unused substitute in the FA Trophy Final at Wembley in which Gateshead beat Solihull Moors on penalties.
The Falkirk born winger, started his career at Falkirk as a youngster before joining Celtic for an undisclosed fee in January 2018. He never made an appearance for The Bhoys but went out on loan to Stenhousemuir in September 2019 where he scored twice in 14 appearances.
He joined Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2020 and had loan spells at Queens Park and Raith Rovers before leaving Ewood Park, having failed to make a first team appearance and that's when he joined Gateshead last summer.
Welcome to Rochdale Connor.
