1973/74 WASNT A GREAT SEASON FOR SAINTS, CHELSEA ARRIVED AT THE DELL ON 6TH APRIL 1974 IN A RELEGATION 4 POINTER (IT WAS 2 POINTS A GAME BACK THEN, BUT NOBODY CALLED GAMES 4 POINTERS) IT ENDED 0-0 AND SAINTS WERE RELEGATED ON 36 POINTS, THE FIRST VICTIMS OF 3 UP 3 DOWN AND CHELSEA STAYED UP ON 37


HAPPIER TIMES JUST 2 YEARS LATER ON 1ST MAY 1976 AND MICK OR MIKE AS HE WAS STILL KNOWN THEN INSPECTS THE PITCH WITH IAN TURNER & HUGH FISHER


BACK TO 1979/80 AND MICK IS IN FULL FLOW AT WHITE HART LANE WITH THE SHELF IN THE BACKGROUND
