Crystal Palace Latest To Be Linked With Southampton Striker

With Everton now having signed Beto and presumably not seeking a striker any longer, Saints supporters might have breathed a sigh of relief, but it seems that the transfer window ain't over till it's over.

The latest on the rumour mill this afternoon is that Crystal Palace are about to launch a bid for Southampton striker Che Adams and footballleagueworld.co.uk is just one of those carrying the news.

Palace lost Wilfrid Zaha in the summer for nothing after he allowed his contract to run down and left on a free transfer to Galatasaray, now the Eagles are looking for a cut price option to boost their striking options, footballinsider247.com claim that the Eagles are looking first at Leicester City's Kelechi Iheanacho, but face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers, if they fail with that bid then they will turn to Che Adams with a last ditch bid.

From a Saints point of view although they have been lining up those strikers that they could go for if Adams is the subject of last minute interest, the blunt truth is that they would prefer to go into the final day knowing that Che Adams has either already gone or is now staying with no other interest.

Southampton fans would hope that the club has made it quite clear to any potential buyer that unless they want the player to go, then they will not entertain any other bids after the penultimate day of the transfer window has ended.
