Everton About To Bid For Saints Defender

Everton are newly minted after getting £60 million or so from Tottenham Hotspur, despite record losses, they seemed determined to spend it and the latest on their list is one of Southampton's star defenders.

According to the latest reports from Merseyside Everton are preparing a move for Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters.

However the foundations of the rumours have to be questioned when the author states that Everton expect to pay between £10-15 million for his services.

That is a total joke of a price considering that when Saints signed him two years ago from Spurs they paid £12 million for a player who apart from 10 games on loan with Saints in the Premier League had played only a dozen for Spurs in the same competition.

Since then KWP has had two full seasons at St Mary's, both of which he has excelled and has also won two England caps.

This would put his value at a minimum in the £20 -25 million bracket, perhaps more given he still has 3 years left on his current contract.

This rumour seems to be put together more out of hope than any substance, with the author claiming that his days at St Mary's are numbered because of the emergence of Tino Livramento, that of course wasn't the case last season, the author has also suggested we are already seeking a replacement and has put two and two together and made Five and of course with Livramento out until the new year with injury, we are hardly likely to want to sell now.

Everton may well harbour ambitions of signing Kyle Walker Peters, but I don't think they have much hope.
