Saints Have 4 Players In BBC Sport Premier League Top 10 Player Ratings

Saints may have only topped the Premier League table for 40 hours, but they are leading the pack in another one, the BBC Sports Premier League Player ratings and not only that they are dominating the top 10.

The table is compiled by taking the averages of scores from BBC Sport's Player Rater, four members of Ralph Hasenhuttl's side feature in the overall top 10, with Southampton players appearing in each positional category too.

Players need to have made at least four top-flight appearances this season to be included on the lists.

The table is as follows

Danny Ings Southampton 7.76
Jamie Vardy Leicester 7.45
Michail Antonio West Ham 7.42
Jannik Vestergaard Southampton 7.34
Christian Fuchs Leicester 7.33
Edouard Mendy Chelsea 7.25
Jack Grealish Aston Villa 7.25
James Ward-Prowse Southampton 7.24
Wesley Fofana Leicester 7.21
Stuart Armstrong Southampton 7.19

The only surprise in this table is that Che Adams isn't also in the top 10 or for that matter Oriol Romeu, but it is good to see that Saints are being recognised for their good form this season.

Saints are also high in the scorings in the positional categories.

Alex McCarthy is 4th in the goalkeeper table with 6.63, Kyle Walker Peters is the 2nd highest rated full back with 7.04 with Ryan Bertrand in 9th place on 6.58

In the centre back category Jannik Vestergaard is top of the pile with 7.34 and Jan Bednarek 6th on 6.64

Saints dominate the central midfield rankings, James Ward Prowse tops it with 7.24, Stuart Armstrong second on 7.19 (I know clearly the BBC don't watch the games ) and Oriol Romeu 3rd on 6.94

In the category of attacking midfielders/wingers, Nathan Redmond may have got some flak from his own fans of late but still has an average rating of 6.86 with only 6 players above him.

Danny Ings is of course King Of The Scummers and he is King of the BBC as well, topping the strikers table with 7.75, Che Adams is 5th with 7.16

These mean nothing in the grand scheme of things but do indicate how well our side has been doing this season, we have 12 players in the tables, virtually our entire team with the likes of Djenepo and Theo Walcott likely to feature in the next one when they have played enough games.
