West Brom Could Snatch Deadline Day Deal For Austin

Despite turning them down a few weeks ago Charlie Austin could be about to accept his Saints career is over and move to West Bromwich Albion.

The BBC are reporting that West Brom are again in talks with Charlie Austin, back in July is is thought that Saints had agreed a fee with the Baggies for Austin, but the player himself preferred a move to a Premier League club and turned down the switch, something that angered Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl who after a training ground rant from the player removed him from the first team squad.

Now it seems that with no Premier League offers on the table Austin is ready to take what is on offer from West Brom and drop down into the Championship.

Austin is due in the Midlands on Thursday morning for a medical according to the BBC, although his time at St Mary's has not been a complete success due to injury, he has scored some key goals for Saints including a late winner on his debut at Old Trafford under Ronald Koeman and his last goal for the club the winner against Arsenal in Ralph Hasenhuttl's first game in charge at St Mary's.

He should therefore leave with the best wishes of Saints supporters. .
