Former Man U winger signs for Dale
After a successful trial period at Spotland, winger Jamie Mullan has signed for the club, and will be in contention for a first team place for this weekend's game with Mansfield.
Mullan has been at the club for a few weeks now, and has played in a couple
of reserves games, and has done enough to earn himself a contract.
He comes to Spotland having been released by Manchester United at the back
end of last season. Since then he has a number of trial periods at clubs in all
four divisions of professional football, but Dale have become the first to take
a chance on the former England U-18 international.
He can play on either wing, but it is the right wing which is his preferred
side, and he was likened to former Celtic legend Jimmy Johnstone during one
trial period, and was described by Swansea manager Roberto Martinez as having
pace and talent.
