Update On Saints V Stoke Due This Afternoon

Saints will at least give an indication as to whether the game against Stoke City will go ahead later this afternoon.

Saints have issued a statement regarding the game tomorrow against Stoke City and will issue further information at 5pm as to whether the game may be able to go ahead.

"Following heavy snowfall in the region, the club has been consulting with Hampshire Police, Southampton City Council, the Premier League and Stoke, and will continue dialogue throughout the day with all relevant parties."

"We will continue to keep supporters informed and plan to issue a further update at 5pm GMT today.”

This statement dows not seem to infer that they will give a definite deccision either way, only that they will may either call it off if conditions worsenor wait until the morning which is more likely.

The issues are likely to involve the roads in the surrounding area and whether thay will clear by the midday on Saturday or at least have a chance of doing so.

Ultimately the club will have no say on this it will be down to the Stadium Licencing Authority who will include the City Council and the Police
