Polish Teenager Wanted By Saints (And Leicester And Everton)

Saints are being linked with the latest teenage sensation from Poland, but they face competition if they are going to land him.

Saints will reportedly fight it out with Leicester and Everton for the signature of Cracovia Krakow midfielder Bartosz Kapustka.

Kapustka is highly rated and despite still being 5 months short of his 20th birthday has already made over 60 appearances for Cracovia and played 15 times for Poland including games at this summer's Euro 16 in France.

Kapustka is described as an attacking midfielder and early indications are that in the centre Claude Puel will switch from the two man defensive formation to one holding player, that being the case he needs to look at bringing in a genuine attacking midfielder and Kapustka fits that bill.

But Saints face competition, Ronald Koeman was obviously aware of Saints interest in Kopustka before he left for Everton and Leicester City are reported to have had a £6.25 million bid turned down by Cracovia.

If Kapustka does choose England as his destination then he has to weigh up whether to go for the biggest wage which could be Everton given their new stakeholders desire to buy success, or whether he wants Champions League football which Leicester could perhaps offer him short term but not long.

Or will he choose the measured strategy of Saints which would perhaps represent his best chance of sustained success and progressing not only his club career but his own personal development.
