Blow For Saints As Clasie Signs New Deal At Feyenoord

Saints have been dealt a blow as Feyenoord midfielder Jordie Clasie has signed a new deal at Feyenoord.

Clasie had been rumoured to be a last minute target for Ronald Koeman as he sought to bring in a player or two before the transfer deadline ends, however that now looks to be dead in the water with Clasie signing a new deal that will tie him into the Rotterdam club till 2014.

Of course its not unheard of for a player to move straight after signing a new deal, but two days after would be a new record i think.

In many respects however this int a major problem for Saints who have plenty of midfield options, the priority should surely be to bring in another central defender as well as a wide option
