Draw a safe bet as QPR head to Middlesbrough - betting

After three winners last week the LFW pundits return to cast a glance towards Saturday's action at Middlesbrough, where they think a draw looks like a safe bet.

Andy Hillman

Another two winners last week, with QPR winning to nil vs Yeovil @ 13/10, and then a whopping 7/1 on the Away double of Liverpool and Arsenal vs Man U and Spurs respectively. I have a funny feeling that the bookies took a bit of a pounding on that double, as I know quite a few people who were on it...

NAP: Wigan vs Watford - Wigan @ 21/20

Wigan are going absolutely great guns at the moment under Uwe Rosler, this month’s choice of the LFW message board green eyed monster. Wigan have won eight of their last nine, the only aberration the crazy 3-3 draw with Yeovil last time out. Watford are simply awful on the road, having not won away from Vicarage Road since the 5th October - some 14 games ago. Wigan , at home, at better than Evens is a great price

QPR related bet - Middlesbrough vs QPR - Draw @ 11/5

QPR at Middlesbrough . Have you ever heard anything quite so spectacularly dull in your entire life? So cutting to the chase - Boro score even less goals than we do, which is impressive to say the least. We only score if Ravel Morrison feels like it, and as one of the 260 at Sheffield on Tuesday, neither he or anyone else looked like scoring if they were still playing now. Neither side actually concede that many either though, even though we’re losing quite regularly. So two teams who don’t score, and don’t concede, away trip to Northern hole, goalless draw written all over it. (7/1)

Derby vs Nottm Forest - Draw @ 12/5

The only reason that QPR are even remotely still in the playoff hunt at the moment is due to Forest and 100-point-Derby both being in as lousy form as we are. Burnley must be loving it. Forest have no wins in six, and Derby have no wins in four, and they haven’t scored in any of those four games. Throw in a local derby, and neither side wanting to lose and give points to promotion rivals, and a low scoring draw looks practically written in stone...

Premiership Shorts:

Everton vs Swansea - Everton @ 4/6 - Swansea have only won two in 15 - against Fulham and Cardiff . They have not won in seven. Everton have won their last seven in a row at home. Absolute home banker, first leg of your accumulator.

Cardiff vs Liverpool - Liverpool to be winning at HT/FT @ 11/10 Liverpool have scored more away from home than anyone else this season - 34 goals. Cardiff have failed to score in the league 16 times. Liverpool have scored more goals in the first half than Cardiff have scored in total. Liverpool have been winning at half time 20 times this season, and have gone on to win 17 of them. See where I’m going with this?

Newcastle vs Palace - Palace/Draw double chance @ 20/17 Backing Palace away from home is a dangerous game at the best of times, but Newcastle are a beatable team, and without Remy they are significantly weaker still. At the back they’re not much better either, only keeping one clean sheet in 10 at St James Park. Palace are much better at home than away, but evens on at least a draw is tempting.

The Pro

Professional odds compiler Owen Goulding tells us…

"Short and sweet from me this week. I'm getting so bored watching QPR this season, and just when you think it can't be anymore sleep inducing, we travel to a team who have failed to score in eight of their last ten games, with half of those ending in a 0-0 scoreline. I doth my cap to you hardy souls who are making the trip up north for this one, but I'm going to stay at home and pop to Ladbrokes to place a bet on no goalscorer at 7/1. I reckon my walk to the bookies will be more interesting than watching Harry, oblivious to what's going on in front if him, sitting aimlessly on the bench thinking about how he can help Rosie make the most of the new ISA regulations."

Recommended bet: Middlesbrough v QPR - recommended bet - No Goalscorer 7/1 (Ladbrokes)

Elsewhere, stick with Krystian Pearce to score at anytime for Torquay who host a stuttering Newport County who have a massive defensive injury crisis - 16/1 available at Hills/Corals/PaddyPower.
