New Saints Chairman Says No Player Sales

Katharina Liebherr has made a categoric statement today that suggests that her meeting with the manager might have been smoother than some thought.

In yesterdays press conference Mauricio Pochettino stated adamantly

"No-one is for sale at Southampton. No-one."

"My belief has not changed from a week ago. No player that I don’t want to leave will leave this club.”

Coming straight from a meeting with Katharina Liebherr the manager was seen either to have been given some assurances by the new Chairman (The club's description of her role not mine) or he was making a statement to make it clear that any sales would be over his head and that there would be conflict.

The Club has been quick to confirm that there are no plans in the short term at least for anything other than business as usual.

"The Club has no plans to sell any of the squad during the January transfer window,” said Liebherr.

"The manager and the team have my full support.”

The message could not be clearer Katharina Liebherr has come in to steady the ship not rock it.

That doesnt mean that there wont be movement out of the squad, but what it does mean is that if there is it will be because manager and Chairman think it is for the best.
