Brendan Rodgers insisted his side were brilliant after the took a point off the in form Tottenham Hotspur

Rodgers said after the game "I thought a point was the least we deserved

"We've come up against arguably the most in-form team in the country, and we were brilliant today.

"We were unfortunate to go behind just before the break, but I said to the players at half time to just keep going and the chances will come.

"In the second half we showed great confidence with our passing, and it was a magnificent performance.

"To play like we do the players have to be in good condition because they need high levels of energy when we keep the ball and pass it like we do," he said.

"To play the same team as Tuesday would have taken away the emphasis on our play, but I thought that we produced an outstanding performance against a top side today.

"I thought we were fantastic tactically," said Brendan. "We pressed them high up the field and managed to restrict Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, which is a sign of an effective team performance.

"It was a real team effort today and it was all about the trust in the group. Someone like Stephen Dobbie hasn't played in a while, but he slotted in well today because he arrived at the game in a god condition due to our high intensity of training."
