Saints Linked With Gaston Ramirez
Saints are being linked in the Italian press with Bologna's Uruguayan winger Gaston Ramirez in a deal that would smash the Saints transfer record set only a few months ago.
Saints are reportably about to pay Serie A club Bologna 20 million euros or thereabouts to secure the services of 21 year old Uruguayan International winger Gaston Ramirez, At current rates of exchange this would value the player at around £16.5 million.
Ramirez joined Bologna from Penarol in 2010 for around about 2.5 million euros and has since made nearly 60 appearances for the club scoring 12 goals, his form at Bologna brought him to the attention of the Uruguay national side and since his first cap two years ago he has won a further eight, also representing his country at the olympics in London this summer, scoring in their 2-1 win over UAE.
Now strong rumours in Italy say that he is about to join Saints, although that signing may come a little late for him to play at manchester City on Saturday.
