Dale receive cash boost from Hornets

Watford have announced the actual figure that Dale will be receiving as part of the deal that takes Will Buckley to Brighton.

Perhaps in a move to placate supporters concerned that the sell on fee would rob the Vicarage Road club of any semblance of a profit in this deal, they have made the rather surprising step in this day of undisclosed fees of giving the actual amount that Dale will get for Buckley for the sell on.

That figure is £152,200 which stems from Dale receiving a total of £239,000 for Buckley from the Hornets, £200,000 of which was the initial fee, with a further £39,000 in additional clauses. Dale will receive 20% of the profit on the deal which comes to the figure given.

As such Dale have now made almost £400,000 through the sale of Will Buckley with the potential for further profits should Watford have included a sell on clause with their sale to Albion.
