Great win. Great team performance . Should have won it by at least 4 highlighting again how poor our finishing is. Preston there for the taking. Almost safe now………..

I thought it was a 7/10 team performance overall but only gave JCS a 7 and MOM.

6’s all the way otherwise except Paal who I gave a 5 (perhaps harshly). I was tempted to give Dykes MOM just for scoring but we need so much more from him and he knows it.

I look forward to reading the match report, think the words will fly off the pen for Clive in his report. An enjoyable and important win.

Special mention to Marti and Xavi. What a turnaround and so many subtle little changes in our defence today which I’ve rarely if ever seen, even when we were good.

Knuckle chewing, bum squeaking, valium chewing in the last 10 minutes as Rs sat deeper and deeper, Field and Colback essentially defenders with Rs struggling to get the ball upfield. But they held out and thoroughly deserved the win, although Dykes goal was fortunate.

The whole team played well and although the defence held firm thanks to a good save in the first half from Begovic, who generally dealt with any threats well, and a great block by Steve Cook. But Jake Clarke Salter was immense winning header after header, making tackles, getting into the right position to block danger and always looking calm.

Willock had a good game and Dykes was lively even before his goal. If there was a weak link it was Andersen and even his dead ball delivery was iffy.

But no doubt that JCS was MotM in my view.

Any other time would not have lasted long in the memory

Another sell out, electric atmosphere. It's a strange thing about the human condition that we're so jubilant, focussed and invested in just avoiding failure.

As I write, Owls have trounced Blackburn at theirs.

Let's make no mistake, we're right back in it...
