We’re all a bunch of puss*es, who sit on our hands and mutter under our breaths about how sh1t RM and the board are. Can’t see the fans of Newcastle, Leeds or even Pompey putting up with being shit on week after week and doing nothing about it. I know, instead of venting a proper message to the board, let’s boycott the buying of floppy foam hands and beanie hats. |

Think you’re all barking up the wrong tree, SR are never going to pay the sort of wages demanded by Moyes or Potter. It’s been on the cards for months that Saints new manager will be….Ole Gunnar Solskjær. |

A call to Dragan…for fooks sake put us all out of our misery and sack both Martin and Ankerson NOW. Your inaction has embarrassed the club, players, staff, fans, yourselves, the history of the club and the city of Southampton. I’ve had enough, I boycotted Liverpool and if RM is still the manager after Villa, I’m seriously thinking about throwing my season ticket onto the pitch against Spurs. The seasons lost, we’ve nothing to watch or cheer. |
| Forum Reply | Who Is Going To Brighton at 13:34 26 Nov 2024
Hopefully be there despite a current dose of the flu. Then all day in Brighton the next day, then home via Wimbledon for their cup game in the evening. Be good to see a proper game of football without all the tippy tappy nonsense. |

Nick thanks for your thoughts, the boycott won’t appear on social media as it’s being driven by the fans themselves, 1 talking becomes 2, 4, 8 etc. I’m surprised that you’ve not come across this initiative, but maybe you circulate at a different level to everyone else. The fans seem to have had enough of SR, inaction by the Board, RM’s strategy and a general lack of information coming from the club. Many have supported the club for decades and feel action is now needed to vent their frustration. Many will still go on Sunday and then moan like buggery when we get a pasteing, I won’t be going. |

I agree with your thoughts but the boycott has always been about the league game. It’s not about saving time or money but sending a message to the SR Board. Like you I don’t think that SR care that much about the cup game, the league however is a much bigger draw and will attract the press, media, past players and tv people. Rows and rows of empty seats for such a big game (which we’re bound to lose) might just embarrass SR into finally making a decision and getting rid of this lame duck manager. |

So one week to go before the Liverpool game and the boycott is growing momentum (albeit slowly). Interesting chat with a work colleague whose a season ticket holder for Pompey, he reckons we won’t make a dent on numbers and would be amazed if we hit a 10% reduction, this as we talk a lot but at the end of the day do “feck all”. |
| Forum Reply | Is the suggested Liverpool Cup boycott having an effect ? at 15:44 14 Nov 2024
I can only speak for myself but not being at either of the Liverpool games us entirely my choice and a decision not taken lightly, it’s got nothing to do with cost, day of the week, train timetables, beer prices or my long standing loyalty, it’s about being taken for a fookin mug. Dragan and the board seem to think that it is acceptable to continue in their current direction whilst deliberately ignoring the thoughts and wishes of the fans. I’ve supported the club for over six decades, through both good and bad times, I cannot however remember a time when the fans have been deliberately ignored. It’s seems acceptable to SR to allow us to support the club, support the players and pay their wages, but have no voice whatsoever. The cup game is meaningless and won’t attract any column inches when we loose, a boycott of the league game is however a big deal and would likely attract the medias attention. I won’t be attending the league game as SR treat the fans like dog sh1t, it’s time I think to throw some back in their direction. |

Not for me as too inexperienced, would rather they try for Ole Gunnar Solskjær who’s not managed since late 2021 and hardly anyone is talking about. With over 150 EPL managed games and +50% win rate, I think he’d be cheaper than Potter, Moyes or Southgate and might be worth a punt. |

Seems like the boycott idea of the Liverpool game is beginning to take off, perhaps the tv pundits will notice and start asking ask what the feck is going on. Like to hear from any season ticket holders what their plans are and also Nick, at the moment your silence is deafening. |

Well it’s been a hell of a dingdong between you and ifonly, I don’t want to get into the middle of it, so here’s a joke instead. I've heard from a reliable source that there is more bacteria on my kitchen work surfaces than there is on my toilet seat. Note to self….Stop sh1tting in the sink. Hope this made you smile, what’s yours and your friends view of boycotting the Liverpool game? |

Bridders, at last somebody talking some sense, the only thing the Board will respond to is a big show by the fans and the bad press it will bring. Turning our backs, silence from the stands, protests before/after the game is just pussying about. Let’s all be strong and as one a send message to the owner, that this situation can’t be allowed to continue. Don’t sit on your hands, vote with your feet and say fook-you to the board. |

I agree one game (hopefully) won’t hurt, and it would send a really strong message that the true fan is fed up to the back teeth with the position the board has placed our club. Lets spread the word about a boycott of the game and it might push the board into some action. You could also take the missus Christmas shopping instead and score some brownie points into the bargain. |

I agree that a boycott wouldn’t hurt the SR finances, but rows and rows of empty seats would stoke-up the media and begin to put pressure on the board. The general consensus among the fans is that the board have created a ‘sh1t show’ of a situation, I maybe just one lowly season ticket holder, but my empty seat and maybe a few thousand more, just might bring more press coverage and make the padded leather boardroom seats a little less comfortable. |

Everyone has an opinion and you’re both welcome to yours and it’s valid, however all this guff about SR not having the money to compete doesn’t wash. Look at the current EPL table and half of the current top ten are smaller ‘unfashionable’ clubs all punching about their weight and doing so on modest budgets. The difference as you rightly say is the inability of the management to manage, a lack of desire and a disrespect of a very loyal fan base. The Liverpool game is a dead rubber which we’re bound to lose, not because of the ability or desire of the players but because they are put out with a handicap before they even kick the first ball. If the current management team persists then the Liverpool game is a no for me and any following game until the fans are respected. |

It pains me to say this, but despite supporting and attending Saints games my entire life, I have had enough. For me I feel it’s time to make a stand and do something with the SR Board will listen to, they seem impervious to anything the fans say and are plainly not listening. So words haven’t worked, maybe action will. To all the Uglies and Saints fans I call for a boycott of the Liverpool game, maybe a few thousand empty seats will show the Board that we’ve stomached the current coaching team enough and it’s time for a change. Now I don’t expect them to listen, but assuming they don’t I’ll not go to the one after or any until the Board acts. Despite the debacle on the pitch I still don’t think it’s too late for us to get ourselves out of the sh1t, we do however need a proven manager who will steady the ship and have us prepared for whichever league we end up in next year. So unless the Board see sense and remove the current coaching staff before the Liverpool game, then demonstrate your belief in the club and stay home. |

England host Finland tonight, anyone going to the game, I’m looking at a single goal for HK on his 100’th game. |

North face of the heap completed, two shovels forward and one sideways rather than the usual two backwards. A step forward, but still eight years of sh1t to shift before anywhere near complete. |

There’s not much on here about the international games, maybe like me you can’t wait for the next Saints game. What can you find to do, rather than watch an international game, for me I’m going to turn the compost heap. |
