| News Comment | Russell Martin Reveals The Only Opinion That Counts at 19:49:31
Of course he reads the fans comments, after all recently he has picked players who some have craved for and almost abandoned his tippy tappy for pointless boot it up the middle. I just do not think that any new manager is going to produce a winning premiership team. I'm hoping that Russell sticks to his plans and play a team that gave the runaround to the likes of Newcastle. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Walsall The Preview at 09:21:54
I'm hoping or rather expecting us to get through this round and in the next or whenever to play against a premier league team so that we can judge how our team compares. A defeat by a lower-league team should never happen, We must pick a team that can win and not just an experimental side. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Blackburn Rovers The Verdict at 21:56:14
Aribo has had a vast improvement. He now looks like a tough guy, and very difficult to prise the ball from. I think his confidence has improved, I wish he would take on a few more runs towards the goal, his skills produce results. It's like we have signed a new player! |
| News Comment | Southampton V West Bromwich Albion The Verdict at 15:55:33
It looked to me that in the first half, there was a reluctance to pass to Sulemana when he could have been more involved. I was not surprised when I saw that he had wandered into the centre. Give him the ball and let him attack. |
| News Comment | Gavin Bazunu Needs Backing Not Sacking at 13:40:51
We hounded out Forster, we hounded out Gunn, McCarthy is on the verge of being hounded out, and now Bazuno has to face the wrath of armchair know alls. Give him some support, he is not a bad goalie and even the likes of Shilton and Banks let in goals. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Sunderland The (Damning) Verdict at 13:30:17
KWP fantastic at going forward and attacking so why don't we play him as the right winger? His rushing forward gives us a goal scoring chance but leaves his true position as right back totally exposed, and it doesn't take a football genius to take advantage of this. Play KWP as a right winger. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Queens Park Rangers The Verdict at 13:45:03
I have often wondered, for the last 69 years, who was the Wally that always shouted rubbish at any Saints player that made a mistake but now I know. Stay cool and cheer for saints |
| News Comment | Southampton At Brighton The Verdict at 10:30:48
I was looking forward to seeing how Ballard would play in a premier game. Did he get a single kick of the ball? What a shame that Walcotts big toe was allegedly offside. He took his chance well and perhaps the game might have changed. The initial team selected must have been an unpleasant surprise to most Saints supporters who would not have wanted those leaving in the Summer to have been in the squad. I have to say that Moi and Theo did as well as others. Standby for one-year extensions to contracts. Oh no! |
| News Comment | Southampton Take A Big Leap Of Faith With Ruben Selles at 19:08:03
In the end, it is the players that will keep us in the premiership, the manager may influence matters but it is a strong team well supported by staff and fans that obtains the points. I am happy that Selles is the right man to be in charge and wish him luck and the knowledge to inspire the team. |
| News Comment | Potentially Great January Transfer Window For Southampton at 13:27:40
We seem to have made some astute signings and It appears that SR sees our future in the premiership and not the championship. My big question and I'm glad I'm not the manager is who are we going to be dropping? I suspect that the likes of Che,Adam, and Moi feel very threatened, and maybe Sam as well. What chance of any Academy players bursting onto the scene? Changes needed to be made, I trust that NJ has learnt how to select a winning team and that injuries do not scupper our chances. I hope for a great result against Brentford but that maybe a little early to blend the team together. An interesting second half to the season and I will be cheering them on, regardless, to the very end. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Everton The Verdict at 18:17:14
Saint Nick I'm older than you but can still see the defender trying to get back and that is why after the ball hit the net Pickford put his arm out indicating 'where were you?'. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Everton The Verdict at 12:21:37
Pickford was rooted to his spot because teams are trying to rush a defender to the near post so that GK can cover the far post. It worked a week ago, was it CPalace but this time the defender did not have time to run back and take his position. Defenders are reluctant to place early a defender at the post because it would put all attackers onside. |
