I tend to agree but I don't think Claire Balding is making the editorial decisions. She's merely the presenter. It was way over the top as was all the build up to the Euros final. That seems to be what the BBC like to do at the moment.
From my seat in the lower loft, it looked like Anderson couldn't really keep up with the pace and power of premier league players. He's class but lack of pace probably why he's playing at this level.
Cook and JCS were excellent. Some said Paal had a bad game but I thought he did okay. Jimmy was solid.
Nardi looks a superb buy on that showing. So nice to see a decisive goalie who's happy to have the ball played to his feet.
EDB was busy without being amazing. Kolli looked like he could deputise for Chair if he's sold or injured.
Frey definitely a bit more mobile. Wasn't particularly impressed with the new Brazilian. He might struggle with the physical side of the English game.
Young players coming on in the second half were a breath of fresh air and you could see Marti was very pleased with their high press.
Overall an enjoyable game even if it was a bit hot in the lower loft for my five year old. The free caps came in handy.
I've not seen much to convince me there's a footballer there. Flatters to deceive most of the time. Wonderful bit of business by the club if you ask me. Hopefully we've signed a replacement who might actually score a few goals.
Interestingly, I've recently discovered that you can invest money in green energy and it becomes inheritance tax free after two years rather than the usual 7 years you'd have to wait if you gifted money. Not saying that has anything to do with climate change but there are definitely some incentives to invest in green energy from a tax point of view.
My mum's care home in Wimbledon is staffed almost entirely by immigrants. It treats it's staff well and pays above market rate but still mainly staffed by young men and women from Indian subcontinent. They are hard working, kind and patient and work with some very challenging behaviour from the residents with dementia (including my mum). I'm very grateful that they decided to come and work in the UK despite the frosty reception they receive from many people. If we only allowed skilled labour in then the care system would be totally screwed. No way the 'native' British could or would even want to fill all the vacancies in care homes.
I recently bought an electric bike as my new job has a longer commute. It's not really much faster than my old bike but you can cruise along at 15mph without breaking a sweat. Any ebikes going 20+ have been modified and are therefore illegal. They could in theory be seized by the police.
I've just got 5 season tickets in family stand. Very little availability in groups of seats in the rows that are undercover. We managed to get row J in block LL. Right behind the goal and should be just about out of the rain. It's a good spot as you're right next to the safe standing so the atmosphere is good.
Also, if you want the free under 8s tickets you'll need to call the box office and apparently they are limited so you'll need to get a move on.
There does seem to be a bit more interest in Olise. They don't have to sell and some Palace fans tell me they're more likely to sell Guehi for 50-60 million as he's easier to replace. Lose Eze and or Olise and they're a completely different side. All depends on any release clauses in those new contracts they signed.
Went to the game with a mate who had a spare ticket. On tonight's showing Will Hughes would be better pick for England than Mainoo. Hilarious how much united have spent to put together such an awful squad. Mount and Antony are shocking.
I quite like Nedum as a pundit, he's a bit more intelligent than your average footballer. However he does seem to love dragging QPR through the mud more than any of his other previous clubs. Maybe it's just a reflection of how mad things were when he was here. He was a decent player but not much more than that.
