I did however love Marti turning around to Lloyd in the dugout to presumably tell him that's what he needs to be doing, anticipating the loose ball. Such a great mind, I think Marti rates our Alfie very highly and wants him to succeed, tough love.
Amazing how much progress that club have made, when I was a yoot, my team, Hadleigh United (Brett siders la la la) we used to literally destroy Needham everytime we played them (cricket was the same but for Glemsford, read Combs Ford or Brettenham), it was like a guaranteed 6 points a season, much like against Glemsford Gladiators or Moreton Hall, but something changed around 1997 and they (amd Sudbury Wanderers) started getting rather good. So pleased to see it, and glad a fellow R is documenting the rise.
In the same way bullfighting is no longer morally acceptable, I did once (around 2001) spit my chewing gum out of my mouth and volley it directly into a bin outside Caledonian Road tube station.... if that happened today I understand I would be considered a 'baller', 'cooking' or at the very least warrant a Cole Palmer (North Battersea Skunt) celebratory shiver???

I uttered the absolute nonsense under Ainsworth last season, that he should deploy Andre Dozzell as an old skool sweeper... I still maintain it would've worked and would probably be lining up in a Bayern Munich shirt this season.... or, I'd drunk far too much and he'd now be available on a free transfer to a league one/ two club of his choice
