Faint hope, same failings, familiar faces – Report

Thanks Clive. Do you know if Pilgrim Pete has a contract expiring with Plymouth? Any chance we can get him in nets instead of Begovic?

Clunky QPR left to settle for Swans stalemate - Report
at 18:42:34

The strange thing to me was that once we got the equalizer we didn't seem all that interested in getting a winner. Couple of times we were standing in front of the ball trying to delay them taking a quick free kick, shocking as they had no intention of going for a winner themselves, surprised we settled.

Do we think Warburton is simply going to do something different at the end of the year? He has form, he's already switched careers once, perhaps he's going to become a master carpenter.

It's always been more about the challenge than the money with him and yet another season in the championship might not be motivating for him any more. Might explain Eustace turning down the job earlier this year too if he's on a promise

Feel free to haunt me Clive. Bought one of them for my 3 year old daughter who's obsessed with anything pink and she is now QPR through and through. Even asked for (one of the blue and white shirts when I told her the pink ones weren't around any more. Worth a bit of haunting, that.

An entirely fair write up. Easy for me to talk about how it's the right thing to do, secures our long term future etc from the other side of the pond but I'm not the one paying thousands of pounds a year to attend home and away and actually watch this stuff.

The importance of being Les — column
at 15:08:26

Les Reed: "Some clubs go for a personality or a track record and the manager says – ‘If I come to you, if you’re lucky enough to have me, I want this, this, this and this.’ We would never go down that route. We will not be interviewed by a manager - we will interview them.”

Ouch. He should just have named us and got it over with.

Great article Clive

A horribly familiar sinking feeling — report
at 23:56:17

Good report, painful as it was to live through that a second time.

On the goal from the corner, Barton was on that post, but came charging out as soon as it was taken. Which may be why Green appears to be yelling at him above, and rightly so.

MTG: Most of our marquee players were an embarrassment, which is why we took a loss.
The only one of our marquee signings that performed - Remy - is now worth more than we bought him for.

End of term report - midfield
at 20:08:23

Clive, there's a typo in here: "take not Jermaine Jenas"

In most cases I wouldn't point it up, but the message it conveys is against my strong wishes.

You may of course change this to "take note Jermaine Jenas", but I'd be equally as happy with a change to "take Jermaine Jenas, please"

That aside - fantastic read!

Green swaps east for west with QPR move
at 14:27:56

Given the reputation we have currently of having an owner unafraid to spend, I do like the angle where we walked away rather than paying over the odds. With any luck that may come back to help us in future negotiations.

Tend to agree with the above that I would have preferred Foster but happy to have Green, who I think is an upgrade over Kenny, as fantastic as he was in our promotion season.
