Need a good laugh? Watch the second half of the Spurs v Man U league cup game. Craziest game Iā€™ve ever seen. Thank god we have Paul Nardi for our keeper šŸ˜‰

Playing styles
at 20:49 19 Dec 2024

Was talking to an old team mate recently about where have all the wingers gone which morphed into a discussion about how every team seems the same in the modern era. No 4-4-2, no wingers who want to skin their fullback to get in a cross just endless passing sideways and backwards to keep possession. Particularly noticeable in international football. Iā€™ve watched every World Cup since ā€˜78 and I every game saw a contrast in playing styles - Dutch ā€œtotal footballā€, British teams playing a high tempo 4-4-2, South American teams with their fast transitions but now it all seems so bland.

Are wingers becoming extinct? Not while we have Smythy šŸ˜‰

Whatā€™s wrong?

There seems to be something not right with the squad. New players maybe not fitting in? Definitely something wrong. Letā€™s hope Marti can sort it out.

Diving
at 01:17 23 Jun 2024

I love football but fck I hate all the diving. Itā€™s laughable watching big strapping lads 6 foot 5 and 120 kilos falling over at the slightest touch. Some of the refs seem to be wising up a bit to it but all it is, is cheating. Single worst thing about our sport.

Worries me that Brum have 3 ex-Rs in Laird, Robertā€™s and Dozzell playing on Friday. We all know theyā€™re pretty crap but if ever they were going to get motivated to shove it down our throats this would be it particularly at LR.

Letā€™s trust the Rs get stuck in early šŸ˜ƒ

Was wondering why Chair seems a bit off his usual game then the penny dropped - Ramadan. Heā€™s probably weak and dehydrated from fasting. No doubt itā€™s probably a hanging offence for Marti to drop him for that reason. At least we know heā€™ll be back to his old self soon (police charges notwithstanding

Eze
at 06:33 1 Mar 2024

Various outlets now claiming that Spurs and City (again) are looking at Ebs with Palace valuing him at c.7 million pounds. As an Aussie, I obviously know a bit about what Big Ange wants in a player and Iā€™d say Eze fits the bill - quick, skilful and mobile. Defo an Ange type as far as I can see. Is it 10 or 20% weā€™re in for if heā€™s sold? Cash injection like that could make next season a bit more comfortable.

Hope he gets his big move as heā€™s a great example of determination and self confidence. Should get more England caps at a bigger club too.

Micro managers
at 19:29 18 Feb 2024

Started a new job recently and my boss is a huge micro manager. Sends me tons of emails starting at 5.30 every morning mostly asking me to do something by a certain time. She often does the task herself then turns around to flog me for not doing it myself.

I know we have a lot of wise people on here so Iā€™d really appreciate any advice as to how the hell you manage a micro manager. To top it all off sheā€™s also passive aggressive and menopausal.
Help! šŸ™

Rotherham 1-0 up home to Hull and Sheff Wed losing 1-0 at Leicester. Another one who could get dragged in to the relegation scrap is Swansea. Currently 2-0 down at home to Leeds.

RIP Charity Park Rangers?
at 05:55 4 Feb 2024

With Blackburn so out of form we would normally have been expecting to be the whipping boys who let them break their losing streak. Instead, weā€™ve broken a 25 year hoodoo and hopefully killed off Charity Park Rangers for good. We really are turning a corner under Marti and are starting to show some guts and mental strength. About bloody time

Been quite impressed with the cameo appearances of young Ziyad. Looks a big solid unit but I mostly love his determination to stay on his feet and win the ball. Is it time to give him a start? As Marti has said, we need all the squad and playing him gives us options to rest Paal or move him in to midfield where he seems comfortable. Nice to have some proper options for a change.

Joe Lumley
at 21:04 12 Nov 2023

Heard a London accent at work the other day so naturally asked him who his football team was. He said Man U and when I told him I was QPR he saidā€Do you remember Joe Lumley? Iā€™m his brotherā€
We had a chat and he told me that Joe was set to come back before we signed Begovic. He also said Joe didnā€™t get along with Warburton and that several of the players found him to be arrogant. I said Joe was a good shot stopper but his kicking let him down but heā€™s apparently worked very hard on this and this is no longer the case apparently. Joe now at saints as 3rd choice.

Interesting intel on Warbs.

Pretty sure youā€™ll be too good for us but I hope McGuire plays as weā€™ve got a few tricky youngsters and a quick front 3. Might be a few Aussies whoā€™d fit the bill for the Rs. Keep your eyes on CB Kye Rowles currently playing for Hearts in Bonnie Scotland.

Letā€™s hope itā€™s a good game played in the right spirit. Sorry to say I think itā€™ll be a reverse of the last time we played in London - 3-1 to England
