Yetis (Non football related question) 16:22 - Oct 17 with 4974 viewsted_hendrix

Has anybody from this MB ever seen a Yeti? apparently the yeti and the polar bear have the same hair, or something like that anyway which is all a bit odd.
I've never seen a yeti.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

The skiing holiday yeti was the only one I saw in the flesh but we're all overlooking the yeti of our yoof that we regularly saw on Thames Televison;

Had a very long conversation with Brian Blessed earlier this year about yetis. He's fascinated by the idea and is doing a series for the BBC trying to find them. Fact is, enormous swathes of earth where yetis are purported to be have had virtually no human exploration done - specifically Canada and Tibet. Blessed has spoken with a lot of natives who describe these creatures in detail, and all tell a very similar story. Probably bollocks, but after speaking to him I'm actually quite open minded, plus this latest evidence with the hair is fascinating.

Bare bones.

Here's a useful thread on this subject:

New species are still being discovered so I'd say there is a chance of there being some sort of new sub species in the Himalayas. The Brian Blessed series sounds interesting, I'll be up for watching that.

Scientists thought coelacanths (a fairly large, boney fish) had been extinct for millions of years, then a live one turned up in a fishing net.

nice to see a couple of more serious threads - out here on Vancouver Island, i have had people show me pictures of footprints (that were huge) and wide apart, these people are hunters and know the difference between a variety of wild animal footprints.

Brian Blessed would be the very best person to go on a yeti hunt with as he has experience of punching Polar Bears.
