donnelly up top today could have allowed hogan the space which we may have missed

What he should have done was show more conviction and made sure the ball was his, but his hesitation (as at Burton) again proved costly.
He did make a couple of good stops after, but the damage had been done. |  |

Don't be hard on yourselves. You lost to a VERY soft penalty and your team dominated us completely in the second half. Lillis really kept you in it for the first half, yet our keeper saved us from dropping points on the second.

I'm probably being overly harsh on our performance, but I never felt we were going to score. For all our possession and chances, I can only remember McCormick making one real save.
I can understand why you were perhaps nervous, as the ball spent a lot of time up our end in the second half, but it was never really threatening.
We lacked a cutting edge and it was a bit like Hill's soft porn analogy from a few years back. | |
