I don't understand the Barnsley love-in. 2 years ago we were looking at the possibility of our best season ever, then they came knocking and we've had 2 terrible years. I am very proud of our former players of course, but they could all change clubs over the summer. I'm more bothered about our club's success than former players and the clubs they've moved to.

I'd imagine there may well be a clause lurking in Wiseman's contract which pays out at them staying up. There might even be something in the deal which took Hillcroft there which pays out even tho Hilly's home. | | | |

no not because of him, goes back so long I can't remember, other than them being somewhat of a bogey side.
Having thunk about it, my mate's sister got married and moved to Cambridge 35 years ago. My mate developed a soft spot for them which I couldn't understand. Only Dale for me [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Do we have a sell on on COG? With Barnsley staying up we could get another windfall from them and of course maybe some ex Daley's moving on to bigger things given some of there form from January onwards. Congratulation to the back room staff and the players there at Barnsley. But I couldn't give a flying f##k about the fans or club as a whole. But I'll always have soft spot for the players and staff there that contributed in our success. |  |

Great drama in the Championship today. Very very pleased for Barnsley. I don't like Barnsley as a club so to speak but I want success for them because their squad and management is made up of people who gave us the best memories of watching our beloved Dale. For me, they practically walk on water so yes, I'm chuffed to bits for them that they've managed to stay up very late on in the last game of the season.
Also very chuffed that GMR bum boys Bolton Wanderers have bottled the chance to go up.
Gotta feel for the kid in net for Watford today, last night he was just a kid playing reserve team football with no chance of being on the bench. Today he gets chucked in at the deep end in the clubs biggest game of the season.

That was one dramatic afternoon, which ended in a big Yorkshire love-in.Â
Barnsley were much better first half, COG was almost unplayable at times and his goal was an excellent finish reminiscent of his second at Oldham. Wiseman and Crainie at centre half never looked totally comfortable and both Town goals were as a result of mistakes in the middle (TK involved in the second I believe). Perkins continues to stand out, he really does get everywhere. If he'd come into the league five years earlier he could be playing at the top level.Â
When it was 2-2 and news came through of the two Palace goals the whole place went mental - Beckford looked to be agreeing with Flicker's instructions to him not to challenge the keeper. The awkward wait for the whistle was very amusing as players just stood round the ref.Â
Pitch invasion, everyone happy. The announcer gave Flicker the microphone on the pitch and the whole stadium was hanging on his every word. Very surreal. Hope they can hang on to COG and others, as they'll be worth watching again next season. | |
