Coleman tomorrow 21:30 - Jan 19 with 5878 views | Beechy | Heard today from someone very close to the club, Coleman was in Dunphy's office this afternoon. The source, didn't say if he had rejected Rochdale or for that matter accepted, but he did go onto say - Coleman is expected back in the office tomorrow 2pm. At first, I laughed the 'back in the office tomorrow' off. But after a good think, It could happen. To be honest, I'd love Coleman. But I'd also love to see Beech given a good old shot. Massive risk, if we want to maintain League One status. But why not?! I think he has what it takes; Not everybody does. - I didn't post this to be slated, or whatever! Just sharing info that I've been told. Anybody's views? [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Most interviews take place at private venues, known only to the people who 'need to know'.

This is true. I know for a fact any discussions would not take place at Spotland.

Got to agree with SuddenLad on this one beechy, IF Coleman was interviewed/had talks today, I would 99.9% be certain they would have been conducted away from the club, and probably not even in Rochdale. I do think however there is mileage in the story yet, and think tomorrow will be the make or break in this saga. Possibility of agreeing terms tomorrow and JC watching from the stands on Saturday, and to be announced on Monday. I would be over the moon with him, very experienced at managing with tight funds. Has developed players, and sold on for profits. And every time I have seen Accy they have not looked short on spirit, belief and passion. They also dont strike me as a hoof it sort of team either. We have good players and I think the right man in charge and a little tinkering or 2, will see us survive. If we click with the right man at the helm there are definatley 4 teams worse than us. Catch-22 is, specifically, a circular argument. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Quite possibly, but not an example of Catch-22.

The phrase "Catch-22" is common idiomatic usage meaning "a no-win situation" or "a double bind" of any type. Hope this helps you understand.

I can't believe we're arguing over this but Bobbyjoe is right, this isn't a Catch-22. Yours, a grammar Nazi, a writer, a logophile, a pedantic sod, and a reader of the bloody book!

To be ousted after 5 or 6 games seems unduly harsh on Chris Beech. He inherited an awful mess and it would test even the best of managers. You can't keep changing at will, you need some stability. I would give CB until the end of the season, then have a look at it.

Coleman tomorrow on 09:40 - Jan 20 with 3563 views | Scunnydale | To be fair, Beech is only the caretaker manager. Sometimes they're lucky to get two matches in charge. I know Dunphy's said it's Beech's to lose, but it seems to me like Beech has done just that. Swings and roundabouts innit?
