Ipswich v The Pensioners 09:21 - Dec 31 with 826 viewsterryb

I was fleetingly looking at this match last night & at times it was like watching The Alamo & Zulu. Combined!

I'm not sure how Ipswich withstood 60 minutes onslaught, it certainly wasn't by controlled defending, but every save, every block & every wayward shot gave them confidence. Indeed, in the last part of the match they were calm & started to move the last line of defence from the goal line to half way in their half. The Pensioners substitutions did help them as well.

Liam Delap was magnificent & bullied the defenders into submission. Will they manage to hold onto him in January? The night reminded me of our 1-0 win in 2011 & I was reliving that game in my head throughout!

It’s funny how when Delap played against us for clubs like Stoke and Preston while he was on loan from City he didn’t look anything special at all but playing against Premier League clubs for Ipswich has taken his game to another level.

They’re not near Fulham, they are in Fulham itself. In fact, both clubs are just inside the border. Fulham fc to the west and Chelsea to the east.

Love the fact that Chelsea’s postal address is Fulham Road and tube station is Fulham Broadway.

You’d think that now they’ve got a few bob they’d move the ground over a bit just so that they be in SW3 rather than SW6.Walham Green w@nkers.
