Kier Starmer is going to ban smoking and vaping from pub gardens and outside areas, so that will include all those who smoke outside football grounds before the game, at half time and outside. I don't smoke or vape. But this is wrong imo. Does he really think that those who choose to smoke will stop smoking and the NHS won't have to deal with it anymore because of an outside ban? They will just smoke elsewhere, and still be a burden on the NHS. Some of our stewards will love that "Put your fag out or you're out (out in the streets)".
They are NOT a burden on the NHS . the Tax paid by smokers is 4 times the cost to the NHS .
I am just quoting the reasoning for the ban, but the tax smokers pay might well pay for their treatment, I have no knowledge on that, but would be interested actually to know how much tax is reveived from cigarette sales and how much the NHS spends on treating people with smoking rekated illness. But in that note, sugar, alcohol, gambling whatever could be argued as a burden on the NHS. We can't ban everything!
The biggest drain on the NHS with regard to Human behaviour is Obesity . Smokers get blamed for draining NHS funds but , its not the case . The amount of Tax they pay on a packet of fags is 4 times what they cost the NHS . If Starmer gets his way he will kill pubs .

Good. Ban it. The one thing all the smokers I know have in common, beyond bad breath and yellow teeth, is low IQ. Anything that keeps idiots out of my space is to be applauded. Well done Sir Kier.
