With 11 we may have sneaked the Desmond I predicted - but we have yet again been shown up by an average Championship team. Can't see it changing either. |
No they were not better than us before Colnack went off. Fact. Where do some of you get this bulls**t from?

Macams Match Thread on 17:13 - Sep 16 by Monkey_Roots | It does seem, to me at least, that some of you enjoy it when we do badly. The effort and heart is there, which was the minimum requirement for this season - even above avoiding relegation. We’ve had a few positive performances recently which, to most of us, was a good thing. Today we went ahead, lost a man early and got beat. The requirements for the season haven’t changed: - work hard - avoid relegation We’re ahead of where we thought we would be so, for the time being at least, I’m good. |
You're so easily pleased it's untrue. Ever tried analysing your own identification with the downward management of expectations at QPR in recent years? 'Emptying the tank' is a minimum requirement for ANY pro club, ANY season. QPR is the one place where it's been treated as optional for far too long. The second is to be at least continuously competitive, especially at home, with a balanced and properly balanced and resourced team/squad. The board/management team have a LOT to do before that box can be ticked, as we saw today. Can they manage it? Frankly, I'm doubtful. A third is to have a coaching team that has nous, intelligence and flexibility at this level. Again, the jury has to be out here, and after today, for me, it's far out (and not in a hip kind of way). This afternoon, as I've pointed out, we managed not a single shot toward the Loft, let alone a goal. With both 11 men and 10, our corner count was zero. We were outclassed, outpassed and out thought, pretty much from start to finish. Our tactics were nothing short of masochistic and reeked of inferiority, but we shipped three goals anyway. If Boro was a couple of steps forward, for me today was five back. PS For the usual meatheads who like to say I and others get some kind of pleasure from saying so, it's the opposite. The truth hurts, and I'm hurting.

I tend to agree with you, w12. I was impressed with them before the goal, too. I thought they were fast, moved the ball quickly and had lots of players open for the ball. Who knows what would have happened if it wasn't for the red, but I can't help thinking it would have been a tough assignment regardless.

Your comments also don't match with Brian's either. But you do pop up a lot when we lose Fair enough but I personally can never be that type of supporter [Post edited 16 Sep 2023 18:01]

Good for you. I have seen plenty of games in the last two years or so to be able to form an opinion. Self-righteous bores like you are not the only ones with a view of our team and club. I guess QPR don't means much to me now as they did in my younger day's; doesn't mean I'm less of a supporter than you or anyone else.

Unpopular opinion but I thought we scored against the run of play and wouldn’t have fancied us to win even if it had remained 11 vs 11. Sunderland look a good team. Kakay and Smyth couldn’t deal with Clarke all afternoon. Their other winger Ba looks a handful as well. I’d expect Sunderland to be thereabouts in the playoffs mix. We really need to find a way to play on the front foot at home. Hopefully starting on Tuesday night. [Post edited 16 Sep 2023 18:30]

Macams Match Thread on 18:33 - Sep 16 with 1800 views | MrSheen | We were a bit lucky to be a goal up before the red card, relying on SA to win up possession up the field. Going in at half time in front might have given us a chance of something, but the result look destined then, going to 4 at the back at 2-3 was understandable but we did very little to suggest we we were getting back on and might have been better to save it for a later rally. Let’s face it, we’re running on fumes, should have saved more for Swansea. Not disappointed with individual contributions today, just couldn’t get anything going when a goal down. Having to put Pritchard on was a lucky break for Sunderland, he was superb.

I reckon it could have easily been 5 or 6, they had 22 shots, a goal possibly wrongly chalked off, the airshot from Bellingham.....they butchered a number of decent chances. I thought the red was symptomatic of the problem that we were second to the ball - physically and mentally, all game [Post edited 16 Sep 2023 18:38]

They also completely took their foot off the gas at 3-1. Presumably to conserve energy with the next round of fixtures only a few days away.

Which is even more worrying (today's showing being a collective failure rather than a few individuals being off it, I mean, and I emphatically include the management team in that), as you'll presumably not disagree? As for running on fumes, Ainsworth himself said in his post-match interview he saved some legs by switching half the team - as if it was a feckin' friendly! Let's hope we now reap the wild wind vs the Swans as he promises.

You said you never watch any live streams anymore as don't want part with cash and you no longer attend at all. Was just saying you got nothing if the current set up to be able to form an opinion. But I think you constantly berate the team and all I said was I could never be rhat type of Supporter. You do pop up big time on losses and today wasn't too bad and was changed by sending off. No need for abuse though. [Post edited 16 Sep 2023 18:52]
