Its investment. Investment fans wanted. It is the opposite of asset stripping which the owners have been consistently accused of since they arrived.

"Next level" investments are not as positive as people imagined. It just pays the rates and gas bills. At least £300k is going to the hard pressed Swansea rate payers.

The Trust diluted again. They failed to bring in the hay in the long hot sunny Summers of 2015 and 2016. Unforgivable in my opinion. The members are to blame asleep at the wheel and now horribly exposed to business realities.

It would be interesting to know how we are regarding credit/debit with transfers. How much do we still owe on player purchases and how much are we still owed on sales.

Why would they put a million quid in to sell it on.

Where is the logic in that

Put the money in to convert to shares and therefore increasing their share amount and diluting others.

I am guessing that the value they are aiming to sell at will bring a nice return.

The trust shares will end up virtually worthless, after having a 21% share holders, its unbelievable, all the work that fans did in rescuing the club and kicking Petty out, only for the this new trust board to give it all away, its a disgrace.

The real truth is always in a murky room somewhere.
It would be nice if they could state where this question could be answered, but of course they won’t because nobody ever shows all their cards. I actually appreciate that.

Agreed, but you would think that this needs to be shown somewhere in annual accounting, but its not.

You are barking up the wrong tree. The guilty ones are those in charge in 2014-2017. They mastered the narrative extremely well using forums clearing them of all blame and placing blame on the so called 'sellouts'. They created the illusion of injustice which collapsed like a pack of cards when the 6 year time limit arrived.

Six years of time and £400k down the pan. No one has even said it was a mistake. All the defenders of the case have vanished.

The Trust should have put their shares up for sale after 2014. It does not matter anyway as it seems they have no protection against inflation currently 10%. To do that they need to invest in share, bonds or property. With £1m in the bank they are losing £2000 a week in devaluation.

How much is Swansea city losing every month in normal trading excluding transfers is the real issue.

I supect it is north of £1m a month.

Sadly for the owners the transfer market for Championship plays has collapsed. They make small profits on the like of Jamal Lowe and Connor Roberts and Obafemi whereas before they could sell a McBurnie for £18m. Those days have gone.

Grimes could not be sold. Manning sat out his deal with no offers. Whittaker offers were derisory. Piroe will go for a maximum £4m if that, Wood is the best hope of a big killing.

Downes was a one off outlier.

85% (or whatever similar amount of shares are owned by the consortium in the near future) of a club is an easier sale than one with 62%!
Don’t know but …

Two things.

The club is running at a loss. Basically every club at this level is, so in the absence of significant player sales regular cash injections are inevitable and necessary. Of course something is required in turn, so the non-investing partners see their shareholdings reduced.

Reducing the influence of non-investing shareholders also makes the club more attractive to other potential investors. Everyone knows why previous ownership did their level best to avoid the Trust getting to the 25% mark. It would have made their own stakes worth considerably less.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Agreed.

The last paragraph is key for me. Is it the aim of the majority shareholders to dilute the others to virtually nothing, paving a way to an attractive sale proposition.

It was not only avoiding the Trust getting to 25%, but also excluding them from any talks prior to the announcement.
The new owners would have had a set amount that they would be prepared to pay for the share ownership in the club.
Including any Trust shares would have diluted the offer to the sellers.

Based on this https://www.swanseacity.com/club/ownership-statement it seems the Trust owns 11.52% of the shares in the Club.

I've seen a lot of people being quite vocal about how the Trust has been diluted etc, but the only way the Trust can maintain a large stake in the Club is via fresh investment. If the Trust put £1million into the Club, at £17.85 a share (which is what the shares are worth according to the Companies House document), that's around 56,022 shares. That would be enough to push the Trust's stake up to 14-15% assuming the American owners don't match the investment.

Where does the £1million come from? Well if each fan in the Stadium over Easter gave at least £52, the Trust would have the funds to purchase more shares. Something tells me that if push came to shove, a lot of the vocal critics of the Trust and those bemoaning another dilution would scarper if asked to contribute money...

Anyway, I can't wait for the Club's accounts to be published so people fully understand just how crap the financial situation at the Club is. I'm dreading it.

So they put in £1m plus and convert that into shares thus increasing their share % and diluting everyone else’s then they sell their shareholding for a higher price per share. That's the short and tall of it as I see it. STID.

If the aim of the majority shareholders IS to dilute the minor shareholders, it would be pointless in the mid to long term. Just throwing good money after bad, yes there would be a short term influx of funds, but it would be like playing poker, the money guys normally win.
