Bizarrely, Willock’s injury probably increases the likelihood of him signing a new contract. Assuming we’re not relegated this season.
A new contract would give him security while he recovers and tries to return to form next season. It would be a big risk for him to run down his contract with his injury record.
Maybe stick a minimum fee release clause in the contract so that he knows the club won’t stand in his way if a bigger club comes knocking for the right money. |  | | |
