How can anyone like this weather , its fu cking awful , ok maybe if ya in a air conditioner office hitting a computer button but for us real workers it's a nightmare!! Really hate it!!!!
AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!
Worked on a landscaping job in Oz, it was over 45'c on one day. Kept wetting down etc, all good. what I didn't realise, is how much it affects your brain. I laid a nice straight brick edge on the day, went back the following day and it was actually more curvilinear!
So yeah, stay hydrated and enjoy it for the rarity it is!
Had to take a bloke off staging three summers ago. He was a good worker, but that day didn't take the dehydration thing seriously, was siding a dormer with a wooden shingle in 100f plus temps. Farkin 'ell, over the place! Had him come down to some shade, drink a half gallon of water then go home early.

I worked high 30's quite regularly, it was fine, you adapt. But that day...we had to get the job finished, working alongside contractors doing small block paving. Their work was shit too, as they realised the next day, a cooler 37'c. It was a record run of days over 35'c or something, coming from here, never thought I would wake up, see a cloudless sky, and go "FFS".
FFS flying to Rhodes Wednesday, one of my sons is coming, he was booked on a train Tuesday from Wakefield to Peterborough where I was going to pick him up, LNER have today cancelled all trains between Leeds and London on that day, means I had to go into work today and request tomorrow off so I can go and pick him up, not doing that in one day as my knees can’t cope with it, so staying over at my eldest sons and coming back Tuesday morning, £72 to fill the tank up to get up there and back.
favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL
As noted before, love this weather…. I remember a mate saying to me years back when we had a heatwave “if this is global warming then I’m all for it”. The pollution tub thumpers will blame everything but this stuff has been happening since the dinosaurs; granted modern living isn’t helping
I love extremes - it’s the boring, bland, dreary greyness we have for large swathes of the year that’s a killer for me.
Gimme constant sun for 3 months Snow and crispy cold days for 3 month And I’ll roll with 6 months of drudge as the pay off
Can’t beat beers in the garden with tunes on*
* As I also said earlier, I do feel for my dogs though; especially the oldie at nearly 14. She’s been damped down, had frozen sausages and blueberries and is surrounded by fans. She’ll be good as will my other two. Do not leave your dog in the car for any length of time - AT ALL. Don’t walk your dog after 10am and before 6pm - if you do then wear a thick coat yourself and hit the pavement barefoot….. see how you like it. Same as for us – hydrate, shade, rest
Enjoy all
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Walked my best friend down by the 'mighty' Neponset river estuary around mid-day, 'ot it was. Noticed his frequent departures from paved path to grass. First time ever and he's eight going on nine, that he drank water from the little bowl I always carry.

I'm lucky enough to be working from home so am sitting at my desk in my pants with a couple of fans on. Not a pretty sight but no one here to see it!
My only gripe is having to slip a t shirt on for a couple of Teams meetings later
This is my uncle John, he sadly passed away this morning. John always followed the science and loved watching the mainstream news. He always protected himself and others while sunbathing. His dying request was for everyone to apply that much needed fourth layer of suncream.
They fail to understand that if it is 32 c in the shade you are walking your 11 miles in the direct sunlight so nearer to 45 c & hotter in bulit up areas where the heat radiates off the concrete .
Probably nearer 50 on the pavement carrying fans to f#####s sitting under parasols in the garden whilst carrying those vital Domino pizza adverts

Yes today it would easily be 50c on the pavement , a look at the 2nd half this short video on thermal imaging shows the road/pavement as bright red & storing radiation from the sun to continuously heat up .
Two hot days and it's a "National Emergency" ffs? In 1976 we had weeks of this stuff and the old barby hardly got a rest. Yep,gonna do some homemade Tandoori Chicken Tikka,kebabs,steak....then jump into the (cold) hot tub.Bring it on.
(I seem to remember back in '76 there was speculation the hot spell was caused by the Rooskies(Soviets) trying out Particle Beam weapon technology.)
and as I've argued on another forum, have a look at the actual town/place forecasts on the met office and the mythical 40C is nowhere to be seen!
It's brutal out there and will get hotter still. I'm just relieved that global warming is a total myth or we'd be in real trouble
This global warming….. when did it start?
Agreed we’re POSSIBLY heading to record temperatures but I recall it being just a degree or so less than today 32 years ago. That broke a record that had stood for 79 or so years.
So….. when did we all realise we are going to die in a mass fireball? The globe will heat up and cool down as it has done for thousands of years. I agree we can slow it or speed it up but you’ll never change it.
My focus would remain on mankind stopping the pollution of its habitats
