It was pointed out on EFL on Quest last Saturday that Northampton Town have scored more goals from set pieces than any other team this season. After the chronic defending for Port Vale's set piece goal, we need to be very very alert at such situations.

Good forward knowledge and hopefully the Dale defense stays vigilant and switched on for 90 minutes.

In particular Max Taylor who only bunny hopped in Port Vale's goal and watched the goal go in.
I would like to see a bit more heart by some of the younger players and commitment, to go where it might hurt, they then may become true Dale legends.

I would like to appeal to all supporters.

Remember we are Rochdale.

Not bury.

Young kids on the pitch in a blue Dale shirt doing their very best will occasionally make mistakes.

Let's support and be loud and positive for 90 minutes! Even if whats on show is not perfect!

Save the negative vibe and show some love!

Remember our biggest battle in 2022 is off the pitch...

Dig deep for the bucket collection and show some love

Up the Dale

We are not for sale

Let's be loud... Let's be proud.. let's ditch the toxic vibe

Rochdale 3-1 Cobblers

This will be Dale's 16th game on 26th February. So far, we've won ... ONE ... and that was at Crewe in 1949!

Six home games have yielded four draws and two defeats.

Time for those records to change...

Cracking day for a game of football and a chance to get 3 points. Apparently Cobblers scoring more from set pieces than any other team in the league or summat. What could possibly go wrong?

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Reality check for O'Keeffe - good to see RS making that decision

Unlikely SAJ will last the ninety so a chance for O'Keeffe to start making an impact again later on perhaps

Change up front too. Hopefully Matty Done's experience will help Campbell's decent start to become more effective

Much better play from us this half than anything last Tuesday evening. Close to a goal on a couple of occasions. Still a frustrating number of passes back when a pass forward is available. Northampton offering very little so far and a neutral would struggle to guess both teams league positions. Keep it going and a goal will come.

Great result and some good management decisions on selection and subs.

Brilliant result. Great job RS but well done to all. Limiting the team second in the table to almost nothing is a job well done. Fantastic to grind out a win, defending resolutely with astute subs where required. Great to have Keohane back in the side.

Today was the most I’ve enjoyed watching us for a while. When it was questioned what Robbie’s plan was (quite rightly) the other night, THAT is what the plan is. I got as much joy out of seeing us defend doggedly as I would out of a scintillating attacking performance. Every single defender was superb but special mentions to EOC and Dorsett, who have both come in for a bit of criticism lately - EOC was every inch the captain and Dorsett looked like an established pro 6 or 7 years his senior.

Granted, we struggled to break Northampton down first half but I’d prefer to credit them as they were well organised and were quick to cut off any available options. I think once Campbell has a strike partner (Charman, once up to speed), we’ll see a different forward. He’s clever, has superb control, makes clever runs and has a bit of an edge about him. He was great today but there’s still more to come IMO.

Also, great to see Swiss Army Jimmy back, he looked as though he’d never been away but the player who deserves the greatest amount of praise? Step forward Matty Done, who I thought was absolutely brilliant. He didn’t give the Northampton defenders a moment’s peace and used the ball intelligently. Stealing a living? Not bloody likely.

The comments made previously about Done were both embarrassing and disrespectful in equal measure. Although he wasn’t perhaps brilliant he did do well - his presence helped Campbell no end with runs which occupy defenders. Couple that with some decent balls into the box and he more than paid back the manager’s decision.

Dooley also performed well after he came on and O’Keeffe will have to look further up the pitch if he wants a place in the side.

An excellent three points.

A really professional performance against second in the league. I thought defensively we were solid with special praise to Dorsett who was my mom. Although we didn't create much we did fashion a few chances and Jimmy should have done better in the first half. Done was a real pest, put himself about and swung in a few decent crosses. Unlike in recent games the subs added to the team. Dooley played well and Grant had a decent cameo.

Campbell looked delighted with his goal and he is getting there, although he is still isolated a bit at times. Onwards to Tuesday, I just hope Ball is okay.

If there's such a thing as a perfect 1-0 win, that must come pretty close!

A lot of great points already made and i echo IOM's delight in seeing us resolutely defend a 1-0 advantage for over half an hour

Did we just see summat click into place for RS? I'd like to think so! I (and others) had demanded patience from the unbelievers and we were rewarded today. Not getting carried away by any means though, still plenty of room for improvement but every man did his job today

If anything made a difference it must surely be Keohane's assured return, and playing out the 90+ minutes shows how valuable an asset he is. As 442 says, O'Keeffe's future role should be further forward

Great to see Campbell grab another and i always think a Dale goalscorer is starting to show his mettle once he's netted important goals at both ends!

Because he was substituted for concussion, he has to have a week off.

Talking of Done, he has drawn level with Wayne Evans on 297 Dale appearances today.

So, one more game and he will climb to outright seventh place, with only Gary Jones, Graham Smith, Ian Henderson, Reg Jenkins, Ray Aspden and David Thompson ahead of him.

Which is why he’s deserving of respect even when being criticised constructively. Hope today would be (another) wake up call for fans when it comes to having a balanced approach towards both players and the manager.
