Ive never been on twitter, I don't understand it if I'm honest. I get the impression it's full of idiots who think they're so important who sit there all day trying to upset people with their obnoxious comments.

Used properly it’s perfect for sports news and updates. You can filter it pretty much and don’t have to read comments on posts, give it a go

As recommended by Trump? No thanks. Why has it taken our Tone so long to wise up? All he did was prove just how out of touch he was with the real world and the real R's

Why does it feel like R'SWiPe is still on the books? Yer Couldn't Make It Up.Well Done Me!

I'm not fan of Tony or the things he does on Twitter (or in general), but bullying someone off of it? Not a good thing surely? As a journalist what does it say about suppression of opinion?

It's good that he'll no longer be listening to and influenced by the sort of people that think it appropriate to abuse him. Same with Lumley, who's also closed his account,. Obviously disgusting that it happens, but I'm pleased they're both withdrawing from it and won't have to listen to it any more.

Had this conversation with someone yesterday about Lumley after the 3rd goal went in. They were all set to give him pelters on Twitter after the game. I asked them to explain to me how that will help his confidence, improve his game or support him - glad he's deleted his account.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

QPR ‘supporters’ have ousted Scowen, Lumley, and Fernandes from Twitter this season.

If I was a professional 'baller I'd be a right prìck on Twitter - boots made of £50 notes, page 3 models snorting gak off my old boy, using kids from Nike sweatshops as footrests, all that kind of thing.

Enough of idiots telling him where he's gone wrong and how to throw away more money I should think. It might not be bullying though.

You don't need your own Twitter account to read the tweets of others, so he can still be influenced by the views of tweeters.

I wouldn't confuse social media (in particular Twitter) with journalism. There's a big difference between a professional journalist penning an article for an esteemed publication compared to a keyboard warrior spitting venom on Twitter in his jim-jams.

I've never subscribed to Twitter and I have no intention of starting now as I have zero interest in what Tony or the cyberbullies have to say. Whatever the cause, Tony coming off Twitter is a good thing and long overdue.

Based on how he cocked up QPR; Caterham Racing and his bloody airline owes me; if he’s not a plum, then he’s 100% something beginning with a ‘P’!!
