Here’s an experiment for you all. Read the tiniest smidgeon of the history of Communism. Just one book on the Soviet Union, it’s not asking much is it. Now, the next time you meet somebody who describes themselves as a Socialist or starts on a diatribe about the British Empire, ask them what they know about the Russian revolution and what followed. Their ignorance will astound you. Then ask yourself; “why would I take anything this person has to say seriously?” ...and start reading and studying before being tempted to open your mouth on a subject in future. It’s your responsibility.

Do what Kerouac, expect someone to be told they are wrong and ask them to go and find out the truth? That's not how it works!
I mean, people blame the UK for the slave trade and give is no credit for helping to stop it when they don't even realise that slavery was going on long before the UK took part, before it even existed, and that many African tribes took part. People moan about our colonial past without even considering it was the way the world was and there were other colonial powers just as bad as us, for all Spains moaning about Gib they won't give up their territory in North Africa. Even when you point these things out certain people just refuse to accept it or believe it because it doesn't fit in with or validate their opinion. All of us have closed minds about some things but some are much more closed, will only ever see one viewpoint.

Saudi Arabia is the centre of Islam, they pay for all the mosques and text books that spring up in Western states around the World. It is not a small sect of extremists.
Wahhabism is in itself a call to follow the teachings of the prophet more closely and was a reaction to Saudi Arabia’s minimal contact with the West (the oil trade and the military alliance required to protect that oil trade, which was entirely necessary to secure the Arabs prosperity).
