Ist of the season Match Thread! 13:54 - Aug 3 with 18799 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Apparently Dale have not won at Prenton Park since March 1976! What are the chances today.......I will happily take a 1-1 draw with Olly scoring. Any team news folks?

Ist of the season Match Thread! on 21:13 - Aug 3 by Knowlesy | Just watched the highlights, some great goals bodes well for the season. Obviously can't judge off one game. One potential spanner in the works is that Jimmy Ryan has a good old tug of their number 10's hair in the aftermath of their sending off. Could be one for a retrospective ban if the FA see that. |
I missed the hair tug the first time round. https://www.skysports.com/football/tranmere-vs-rochdale/409910 But the number 10 shouldn't have got involved (neither should Ryan, but he'll probably get away with it).

The 2nd goal also deflects off Dooley - he was on a hat trick!

Random Thoughts: Even though we're not world beaters, yesterday shows how much quicker the game is in our division for teams like Tranmere who aren't used to it. It reminded me of the Hartlepool match when we first got promoted. Their midfield will struggle if Perkins is going to feature much as he'd gone by the hour mark. Never let it be said that we don't time waste/indulge in niggly fouls/kick the ball away/keep hold of the ball - all the things that other teams with a bit of nous and guile have done to us. There are positives in letting in those two goals - lowers expectations and gives them something to practise in training. Why does the club make a big deal about voting for kits when the team just wear pink anyway? Last year the change kit was meant to be white; this year, grey. Support was fantastic but save it for the ground, not the concourse of Victoria station.

Those highlights are incredibly brief and do no justice to the build ups to the penalty or the third. On the own goal I thought Sanchez could have tried to dive to save it, it would have been a indirect free kick, but better than a goal. How stupid was their player for the sending off? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Ist of the season Match Thread! on 18:16 - Aug 3 by jonahwhereru | It is interesting to read the positive comments on here. I was just following the BBC updates and they kind of infer that we kept scoring when Tranmere were building up a head of steam. They had plenty of attempts. However on here it suggests it was comfortable. always good when at least 4 players are touted as the standout. Will have done Camps a power of good. Plus Morley has been involved in a league win and Ryan got some minutes. Was the Rathbone injury a bad one? UTD |
Rathboni has posted on twitter "Fine"......so I take it that is the case.

This is referring to the comments made about Henderson on Quest, referring to him as a fine wine. It looked a nasty challenge on Rathbone and he might not be fully fit for next Saturday but I imagine after that it won't be a problem.

Ist of the season Match Thread! on 16:42 - Aug 4 with 2256 views | boromat | A word on/for Tranmere. They're very complimentary on their forum about us. I think they looked very good in the first half. They were organised without the ball and we struggled to open them up apart from the odd occasion where we could counter. Were as they did carve a few opportunities. At one nil they were still in the game but it felt like they panicked at half time and were a bit naive with the two attacking substitutions and it took there solid formation away and we could pass through them at ease. Also Perkins may be their best player with the ball but unfortunately I'm not sure he's got the legs for this level anymore. The only way would be to compensate with some athleticism alongside him. League One is a huge jump from League Two. I think it's a completely different style and there's also a bigger divide from top to bottom.

Our second and third goals yesterday were both magnificent in different ways, a touch of cool genius from the maestro himself for the second and then a seventeen pass move resulting in a great finish for the third.

It's frustrating that even the nearly 10 mins of extended highlights on ifollow still doesn't have the whole move for the 3rd goal. I might have to watch the full broadcast back 😂.

They are and other clubs' YouTube footage from yesterday is there. However, they aren't on Tranmere's YouTube either, so I wonder if there's an issue with the footage from the game?
