Most teams don’t get three days of sunshine. If they had a total of 210 to get, two days to go, and 8 wickets to get it, you’d surely tag them as favourites?

I’m not saying they will win it mind. Far too flaky. But if Stokes, Buttplug and the rest lived up to their own hype, they would do it.

I can see where you’re coming from with this but this would be the tenth highest fourth innings score to win a Test match in cricket history. The odds are not in our favour and nor should they be. Australia are still huge favourites.


To win this match England will have to beat their highest successful run chase, and that was 332/7 against Australia in 1928.

Funnily enough their 2nd highest successful run chase was also against Australia, 315/4 at Headingley in 2001.

I’m anyone but England in Cricket and Rugby if I’m being honest.

When I use the word hatred, I mean it in a sporting sense, I don’t wish ill health on any of them, apart from maybe Archer getting a bit of own medicine and Stokes and Bairstow getting a decking ala Root by Warner whose meant to be quite tasty when he isn’t tampering with balls.
