CBR on 23:07 - Mar 9 with 4249 views | jasper_T | He's been playing because McBurnie can't lead a line on his own. When Oli's not available we've gone without a recognised striker more often than we've used CBR. Didn't impress at u23s level last season either, really.

I think they complement each other when they play upfront together. But obviously that leaves us short in midfield. CBR is the big lump target man, and McBurnie is best playing just behind a CF. CBR on his own, just doesn’t have the quality to be effective at this level, Mcburnie not quite the physicality. They make up for each other’s weaknesses as a team, but I don’t think we have a physical enough midfield to play 442.

We've got the numbers and the quality imo but it's definitely an unbalanced squad. There's no simple way to get the best out of Celina and McBurnie in the same team, as they both essentially have to play 10. Bersant out wide doesn't work, Oli up on his own doesn't work, dropping DJ to play wingbacks doesn't work etc. Different story had Asoro turned out to be half what he was talked up to be.

Ah yes Asoro, such promise, such disappointment. He’s only 19 so hopefully will improve with age. At the moment he needs to get back to basics, just like Renato Sanches. No good having talent and flair if you can’t hit a 5 yard pass, or make the right decisions on the pitch. Barrie McKay on the other hand needs to search for his missing backbone. Your point is spot on though, basically any 11 we put out will have at least 2 playing out of their favoured positions. [Post edited 9 Mar 2019 23:58]

He’s sharing a pitch with some players who are playing championship football. He’s not though.

Weve had plenty of players over the years wearing the jersey in the FL.......League players they were not.
CBR on 03:58 - Mar 10 with 3999 views | jack247 | Because we don’t have any other options when McBurnie isn’t available. The fact we played most of the game with no striker speaks for itself. He’s not bad playing to his strengths, he’s an old fashioned physical centre forward. He’d probably do well playing 442 in the 90s, but he just doesn’t have the finesse for the game Potter tries to play. Didn’t do much Friday, but he’s ok for the bench. Type of player who will bundle the odd goal in if you bring him on for 10 minutes and go more direct.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

What strengths are those? He struggles to hold the ball up, and when he does pressure the defenders into a corner he gives away stupid fouls. If he's "ok for the bench" we're heading to League 1, and that's an optimistic statement.

When in the Premier League we littered our squad with players not good enough for that league. Now we're in the second tier we're doing the same thing again. It will only end the same way.

I’m not bigging him up. From what I’ve seen he’s way too awkward and clumsy to play in a footballing side. If he could hold the ball up and lay it off he’d be ok. If you’re chasing a goal with 10 minutes left, he’s the type of striker that’s going to put himself about in the opposition box, cause a nuisance and will nick the odd goal. He’s got 3 goals from 10 shots in 500 minutes this season (5.5 full games) He doesn’t look to have anything more about him than physicality and determination, but as a last resort from the bench, that’s sometimes enough.

Even Nordfelt gave up thought it was best to try and pass it back upfield rather than kick it long to CBR after the first few attempts came right back at our defence.
