The reality can be seen in the polls - it’s unelectable with Corbyn in charge if the moderates all go elsewhere. It’s a bizarre concept but not inconceivable that the independent group could end up with almost as many MPs as Labour. If Lansman also withdraws support, where does that leave Corbyn and his merry band? A fringe group with no power.

He's only moved on the peoples vote and anti semitism in the last 7 days because he was staring down the barrel of the very real prospect of 100+ MPs walking.
However there's no-one in the labour movement that could tell him not to stand again and he'd listen.
