The Best Live Album 16:21 - Aug 4 with 21751 views | zedlep | Just sat here on hols in Sicily chatting with my beautiful wife. “Which live album do you think is the most important in my life?” I asks. (Bit inebriated truth be told). She names two out of three that are ‘up there’. What are the best/top for you guys? For me it’s (in reverse order): 3. The Song Remains the Same - Zeppelin ( saw it at the Castle Cinema - great memories) 2. If You Want Blood, You Got It - AC/DC “Angus. Angus!” Number fecking one! Live in the Heart of the City -Whitesnake (I’ve got a hell of a length Coverdale l!) What do you reckon?

‘Live at Budokan’ isn’t a bad shout! Nor is ‘Live Killers’! The 1986 Queen is ‘neutral’ to me as I saw that tour in Vienna, Live when I wa studying at the Uni there. Kiss leaves me confused though!!!!!

Of the two Queen ones I prefer Live Killers too.

Rush are too great for me in that they are so good they reproduce the studio ‘thing’ too closely. Tom Sawyer and Red Barchetta are two bits of close perfection for me though. I admit not knowing ‘Dream Theatre’ at all!!

Depeche Mode are too underaged in my opinion. Pointless info: I was driving through Kegworth listening to INXS within 5 mins of the air disaster happening. I only found out about it when I arrived at my mates house in Derby about 20 mins later!

I do like delicate sound of thunder. The eagle has landed by Saxon is a guilty pleasure. Live at Treorchy will always be a classic.

Dream theater are in same genre(kinda) as Rush and are an acquired taste but if you like rush you might like them though they are allot more on the heavier side of prog metal.

Saw Wishbone Ash at the Rank many years ago, and yes they were very good live. My favourite live album is Live Taste, although I’d rather be at the gig than listen to a live album.

The Best Live Album on 21:42 - Aug 4 with 9692 views | Lohengrin | Whenever a live album is talked about Jerry Lee’s ‘Live at The Star Club, Hamburg’ from ‘64 rates a deserved mention. An outrageously talented stylist aflame from a precise tonic of whisky and amphetamine playing for a crowd that howled with appreciation just as field recording was making the great technical leap forward. Warwick, I’m sure it must be somewhere in your collection. One of those extraordinary occasions when everything falls into perfect alignment and the result is unrepeatable.

Live Magic. That's shite too.

The Best Live Album on 21:58 - Aug 4 with 9673 views | ItchySphincter | Not a huge fan but Made in Japan is a benchmark recording and Live and Dangerous is good. Generally not a fan of live albums. Prince Sign O' Times is a masterpiece as is U2's Under a Blood Red Sky, although they're generally crap.
