I'm going in 3 weeks time (health permitted) I want to Hire a car like a Mustang or a Camaro for a day.

Have any of you hired a car if so did you book before you went or did you hire ond there? Id like to get one delivered to the hotel but looking online it says to collect at tge airport. Any suggestions please :)

Hi thank you for the info.

We are there 7 nights, we booked it all last october. But I aint made any plans as I was waiting to go in for a OP and I had it yesterday and I should be recovered in time to go in 3 weeks. So if I'm honest only now im making plans as I really did not think we would be going.

We though we would hire a car for a few days to head out and about.

As it happens we were tolf/suggested to hire one of these eletric scooters to use up and down the strip. So we will gind a hire place when im there.

The 'Duece bus' im guessing you just but tickets on the bus?

Thank you for the kind input 👍

Yes you can buy tickets on the bus for different lengths (I think 24 hours was about $8 pp - shorter durations are available but not such good value. Think you can also buy them from machines by the bus stops)
There's loads to do as you no doubt know.
Fremont Street is definetly a must, down there as well is a museum all about crime and old Las Vegas. Very good. Further afield is Hoover Dam and of course the Grand Canyon.
If you are into shows go to the ticket booths (I think there is one opposite the Bellagio, one outside the Flamingo and one opposite the Mirage). Always able to offer good prices on shows, as well as on dinners.
One tip - watch out for "legitimate" looking timeshare shysters. My wife always loved Donny Osmond, however they were taking a break when we were there. In the grounds of Caesars Palace was marquee offering cheap tickets for any show.
They asked us in and chatted about what we'd like to see, then said they could get us in to see Donny and Marie Show the following day. We had to pay them $50 and go see some new timeshare apartments.
Wife was excited, but I said we'd get back to them. Checked out the theatre where Donny and Marie were advertised and found out they weren't even on !
Have a great trip and if you want any info feel free to ask or PM me

Not sure how old or "open" you are, but I couldnt recommend Circ du Soleil Zumanity more. Lots of nudity though, so if you are a bit of a prude maybe not lol.

Michael Jackson ONE in the Mandalay Bay is pretty good too.

There is a great little Rat Pack show just off the strip and the Tuscony Suites. Its just down the road from the Flamingo. Its supposedly the longest running Rat Pack show in Vegas. Quite a small, intimate setting and the singers were really good.

We stayed in The Wynn and it was amazing. If you ger a chance go try the Buffet, its pricier than others (about $40) but food is amazing. SW Steakhouse is great in there too (although its about $60 a steak)

I have just come back from Vegas.

If the driving is solely to do with mobility issues rather than the experience of driving down the strip then I would say don't bother with car hire as the traffic on the strip is a nightmare.

We used uber a lot which was far cheaper than the taxis.

Also if you want a bit of a cheaper night out with decent food and drink (circa 3 dollars a pint as opposed to 8 on the strip) give Ellis Island a try. Me and Mrs. jack had 2 great nights there. Its a bit old school but we enjoyed it. If you go ask for the steak special.

I was recommended Ellis Island by another poster on here and he was spot on when he said its a good night out.

I know I've said this before on here, but would genuinely recommend the Liberace museum. It has his old cadilllacs, grand pianos and costumes and is a great place to spend a few hours if you have time. It did close for a few years while they had to find a different venue, but I believe it's reopened in the Thriller Villa (snigger), which was Michael Jackson's house in Vegas (so you get to see that as well). Supposed to be even better now they've moved if you're interested in the old Vegas glamour days.

I visited Vegas in 2008 for the Calzaghe/Hopkins fight, I'm sure it was Ellis Island that we visited twice for breakfast - excellent steak & eggs

Try the Beatles love show and we also saw David Copperfield. We enjoyed both. We also saw le Rev which was also good. Mrs jack loved it.

There’s plenty of discount ticket booths along the strip.

Ps check the weather. We went in March and it wasn’t that great.

You can buy tickets at the booths, online or at The Mirage.
Just check out which is cheapest.

Don't know if you guys have been watching the programme about loads of British entertainers doing a Vegas show (Cannon and Ball, Mick Miller, etc).
Last night they showed the Liberace Museum as well as a brilliant Italian show lounge / restuarant where thevRat Pack used to dine.
Looked fabulous.

When we first went cheap buffets were used to lure you into the casinos.
Now the buffets aren't cheap, but the food is very good quality.

The Beatles show was the one show that you couldn’t book at the ticket booths. As we had not pre-booked online we had to go in person to the mirage hotel and book at their box office.

You can however book online before you go.
